Marimokkori is a character popularized in Hokkaido, Japan. Much like the Tamagochi, the name “Marimokkori” is a pun: marimo is the word for the green algae clusters that grow in some of Hokkaido‘s lakes, while mokkori is a Japanese slang term for an erection.

Marimokkori’s fame comes through merchandising, with a number of various souvenirs being sold in Hokkaid? and throughout Japan.

How to create your own rock band record cover :

1. The name of the band
   As you know, the name of the band is pretty important stuff, so we’re going intellectual (wikipedia) .
   Go to “wikipedia” & Hit “random ”, the first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
   In my case: Bakya (I guess I’m pretty lucky, it sounds cool!)

2. The title of your first album.
   We need a cool line, so..
   Go to “Random quotations“. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
   In my case: Geez, I’m so lucky! Here’s my quotation, “There’s no easy way out. If there were, I would have bought it. And believe me, it would be one of my favorite things!”  - Oprah Winfrey! So, I’m going to take One of my favorite things as title of my first album.
   
3. And now the album cover!
   The cover is really important right.. so, let’s head to flickr Advanced Search, write the name of your album in the search field and click search. No matter what, the first photo is going to be your album cover!

   Note: The original step was different. I decided to change it to have just Creative Common pics, you know, just in case..

4. Now, some Photoshop, or better Skitch and share your RockBand Cover, and let me know how it went for you!

Yeah.. it’s pretty weird. A rock band called Bakya, whose one of his favorite things happened to be hot air balloons? well, honestly, that could be..

• Nakagawa is known as a heavy drinker (although he has announced attempts to quit drinking on several occasions).
• After winning an election in 2000, he famously painted a black “teardrop” on a daruma doll as he was too drunk to paint the eye in correctly.
• In April 2004, it was revealed that he had not been paying into the national pension plan for 21 years (yeah, who cares, I’m a minister!)
• On January 6, 2007, in an interview with a reporter from the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, Nakagawa stated “Women have their proper place: they should be womanly…They have their own abilities and these should be fully exercised, for example in flower arranging, sewing, or cooking. It’s not a matter of good or bad, but we need to accept reality that men and women are genetically different“

However, Nakagawa san is in good company!
Nakagawa’s party colleagues Yoshiro Mori found the performance – where the minister was representing Japan on the international stage – less than amusing and immediately concluded that Nakagawa’s stupor was alcohol-induced.

But Mori himself has more his own brushes with embarrassment. During his short tenure as prime minister from 2001 to 2003, he suggested that childless women should be barred from receiving social security payments once they retired.

And a former public health minister once referred to women as “birth machines.”

Even current Prime Minister Taro Aso once insulted pensioners when he accused them of constantly visiting their physicians instead of keeping themselves fit and healthy.

Aso’s Government is definitely a mess..

Why do I like it? 
The setting is cyberpunk, similar to that of William Gibson‘s Sprawl trilogy. The atmosphere is stunning, the locations somehow remind me of Hong Kong, and all the electronic gadgets are so cool.. I’d like to live some months is a place like that!
