Wandering around my neighborhood I found a battery vending machine. You know, where you put money and you can automatically buy some batteries. Ordinary things, here in Japan. So I started wondering, what kind of vending machines do exist here in Japan, the homeland of vending machines?

Ah yes, the jidohanbaiki that we all come to love and hate as (temporary and permanent) residents of Japan! They have infiltrated practically every corner, shelter and cave all over Tokyo, and there are no signs of retreat! Where does it all end? Why on the Internet, obviously.

They have fishing bait vending machines here in the US too.
Also, I love how the used panty vending machine says “Cigarettes”. At first glance I thought there were cigarette packs that had pictures of women’s crotches on them. Alas, no. haha.

We should have the DVD porno vending machines right here in the Philippines……We have a place here called “QUIAPO” were almost all the people living in “Manila” (Capital of the Philippines) flock in to buy DVD’s and CD’s…..that will be a very good place to set up shop!

@ BSK: Yes, really. Children in Japan use insects like little Poke’mon. They taunt the insects then fight them in little arenas and stuff. Pretty fun to watch actually…

Japan is not the “homeland” for vending machines. Heron of Alexandria,in Egypt in the century, developed a vending machine for dispensing holy water.

Awesome vending machines!!! I love vending machines and I am a avid fan, and I have a pretty hefty collection of vending machines. I started collecting vending machines back in 2004 and I also turned it into a successful business. Awesome pics keep the good stuff coming.
