Description

Posted in: Category: [Kanda - Tokyo]

I'm heading to a pretty cool onsen (hot spring) today! My summer vacation starts (even if it's just three days..), today the weather is quite good, not incredibly nice but at least it's not raining.. I hope to be able to use my new 18-200vr in these days, weather permitting of course..
Oh, and this is an interesting parking in Kanda..

it does indeed look interesting.. is that just for one car or it's one of those elevator thingies? nice find.. :D

Very nice shot, i really love the feel of this shot at its very WIDE angle. Another aspect that i like is the details and the foreignness of this scene. Great work.

I realize it's insignificant in the whole scheme of this wonderful image, but that vending machine for drinks is so vintage. Another fine capture.

A very appealing picture for its interesting detail and color. I'm especially impressed with the contrast and level of the image control you maintain. Excellent photographic work.
Added this shot to my vfxy collecton.

Excellent and different! I like this shot, it is strong and in a way masculine. Just wondering; is it a HDR photo?

The vending machine is what caught my eye! LOL

Very nice lights, detail and mood. You are one of the few photobloggers who has a definite and easily recognizable style.

    The lines! Amazing picture!
  • Mindy // 2008-08-27 18:44:22

The Katakana really does say "coin parking." How weird! Great processing. Love the detail and mood.

If the sign above the entrance is true, I wont fit in there ;-) Nice shot!
  • Jan Erik Moström // 2008-08-27 19:43:58

I like it, I like that it's possible to spend some time looking at all the details
  • Radel // 2008-08-27 19:58:11

Interesting is a good word for it. Does more than one car fit in it? :P
    Great lines and framing.

Love how you frame your images..and how you capture the true ambience and light. Really nice!

Lots of spooky places in Tokyo it seems...
  • cako // 2008-08-28 07:01:09

Very interesting location and a little bit scary atmosphere.

I like the light inside the garage. For some reason that caught my eye the most.
  • Ruben - ReallyJapan // 2008-08-28 17:08:25

    Thanks ;)
@Framed and Shot : Well, it's not exactly a HDR because I just took a single shot.. however there's some postprocessing that enhances this hdr look...
@Mindy : eheh, you're right, in katakata it's exactly "coin parking".. and what's really amazing is the sign on the left just below "coin parking" : popcorn vending machine, 3 flavours! ahah!
@Claus: eheh, exactly, me neither ;)
@Radel: just one car... thanks God!

I just love the mishmash of signs and storefronts. Theres so many different fonts and textures and materials.
  • michele // 2008-08-29 10:24:07

really like this one. especially with the strong white line leading us in to all the other wonderful lines.
  • tom // 2008-08-30 03:34:00

I like the composition. In particular, the white line on the street.
  • Jonas // 2008-08-30 20:52:26

Great contrast between the bright food selling machine and the dull coin parking. Your work on the lights and colors is just awesome.
